To Preserve and Promote the Art of Tap Dance

Tap That Brass is currently fundraising to complete the feature length documentary Beyond A Shuffle

Beyond A Shuffle is a character-driven look at the history and future of Tap Dance. This feature length documentary is centered around Chicago tap dancer Bril Barrett and his company M.A.D.D. (Making A Difference Dancing) Rhythms, while weaving through the early history and the current state of the art form.

We learn about all of the above through interviews with world renowned tap dancers, historians, and friends and family of M.A.D.D. Rhythms.

“New Orleans was the inspiration for Tap That Brass. I was intensely drawn to brass bands and always felt like there was room for tap within that setting.”
